PUKÖ Cycle

Applying the PUKÖ cycle in the context of the English Preparatory School systematically improves teaching processes and increases student success. In the Plan phase, term goals, lesson plans, assessment schedules and responsibilities are defined. In the Do phase, new methods are piloted in selected classes and participation and midterm exam data are collected. In the Check phase, midterm/placement tests, surveys and feedback from instructors and students are analyzed to evaluate success, attendance and satisfaction indicators. In the Act phase, root causes of deviations are identified; for low performance, additional workshops, monitoring mechanisms and faculty training are implemented; successful practices are standardized and rolled out across the entire program.

Stages

  • Analysis: Review success, attendance, and satisfaction indicators; check validity and reliability of measurements.
  • Report: Prepare a short end-of-cycle evaluation report with recommendations.

  • Corrective Action: Implement additional workshops, monitoring mechanisms, and pedagogical training.
  • Standardization: Document effective practices as procedures and scale them across the program.
